About the Northeast Florida News Collaborative

The Northeast Florida News Collaborative is a coalition of news organizations dedicated to providing news and information in the public interest for a more informed and engaged Northeast Florida. Partner news organizations include digital, broadcast, and print media dedicated to providing fact-based news and information serving the Northeast Florida community. Founding partners are:

  • Baker County Press

  • Jacksonville Business Journal

  • Jacksonville Free Press

  • Jacksonville Today

  • News4Jax

  • The Florida Times-Union/jacksonville.com

  • The Tributary

In 2026, our first year, these organizations will work together to examine the complex causes of and solutions to this crisis so that bad actors are held accountable, citizens and nonprofits can make informed decisions, and public pressure builds on policymakers so that housing is within reach for all residents of Northeast Florida.

The Collaborative was spearheaded by and is fiscally sponsored by The Tributary. Decisions for the Collaborative are made by a Steering Committee composed of one representative per partner news organization.

Partner news organizations agree to adhere to the Society of Professional Journalists Code of Ethics

We will not advocate for particular solutions, policies or legislation outside of issues of press freedom. Instead, we will investigate potential solutions and make the public aware of those solutions through journalism and engagement activities.
